Accommodation / Hotel Blocks

When the wedding is in Malta and most guests are flying in, where they stay becomes part of the wedding plan. This category covers guest accommodation as a vendor service — distinct from the hotels-as-venues hub, though the two often overlap. Many couples block rooms at one or two hotels near the venue, negotiate a wedding rate, and arrange airport transfers so guests arrive together. A travel concierge or the hotel's wedding desk can handle this for you, from room blocks to welcome bags and late check-out on departure day. Malta's hotel stock runs from 5-star resorts in Sliema, St Julian's and Mellieħa to family-run guesthouses in the villages; Gozo offers a quieter, slower-paced alternative for smaller parties. Below you'll find specialists who book and coordinate guest accommodation for destination weddings, plus advice on splitting stays across Malta and Gozo.

Hotel room blocks for wedding guests

Most Malta hotels will hold a courtesy block of rooms for 2–4 weeks without deposit, after which unconfirmed rooms release back to inventory. For a 100-guest wedding, a single hotel with 40–50 rooms usually secures the best rate; overflow goes to a nearby sister property. Book blocks 6–9 months out for peak season.

Malta vs Gozo stays

Malta is the default for larger weddings and nightlife-adjacent hotels; Gozo suits smaller, slower-paced weekends with farmhouses and boutique stays. If the ceremony is on Malta, keep guests on Malta to avoid a 30-minute ferry each way; if the venue is in Gozo, a Gozo stay is worth the quieter setting.
